Jess - Froth Cafe

For the past 2 years I have used Redbelly blood oranges for fresh juice in my cafe in Leichhardt, NSW. I requested Redbelly for the second year running for a number of reasons - Redbelly oranges produce more juice per kilo than unbranded blood oranges I have used in the past (therefore more economical than others); their colour is so vibrant the juice looks amazing as a counter display; and the Redbelly customer service and delivery made ordering easy.

We served the juice in hi-ball glasses with ice and a sprig of mint. It looks great and we have cusomers ordering it when they see it being delivered to other tables. The majority of customers order the juice in addition to their coffee, so it's real profit.

Leading up to blood orange season we had requests from customers who remembered the quality form last year. We were also able to "sell the story" of the origin of the oranges. I feel it's becoming more important for customers to know where and by whom their food was produced, and the Mancini/Blood Orange story is a lovely way to connect with customers.

I will certainly be calling Ruth, Len and Vito to order Red Belly again next year.

JUICE TIME

Summer is practically upon us & the bright blood orange fruits we enjoyed shipping to fold all throughout the winter and spring months are gone.  Don't despair. Because we are very exited to introduce our latest Redbelly product - Frozen Blood Orange Juice!!!!!  Redbelly blood orange juice really is a taste & colour sensation.  We have a whole heap frozen and ready to supply to:  - juice formulators - juice...

Granita Cocktails

Spring, gotta love it. Best time to get into blood orange granita's while the fruit is still coming in fresh from the trees and the air is warm and the sun is bright. What better combination. So with that in mind I thought I would make up a granita to make tequila cocktails from for the BBQ planned for the day after.

Jelly Time

I took the photo above yesterday. It seems I have come a long way since the first jelly a few weeks ago. I thought I would put a few words together to take you along my journey with Gelatine.

"We met Vito and his Redbelly Blood oranges at the Melbourne Food Fair last year.  I was excited about trying fresh blood oranges in our gelati and sorbet that we make at Jilarty Gelato Bar and Cafe in Swan Hill.  Their customer service was outstanding and the resulting sorbet was out of this world - an absolute best seller with a good story behind it!  We are looking forward to the 2011 blood orange season!"
